Rebuilding Silver Wraith Transmission
This is a pictorial explanation of rebuilding a Silver Wraith (after 1948) transmission.

Stripping down the transmission.

Speedometer cable drive.
Speedo cable housing with drive removed.
Removal bolts fitted to the rear bearing carrier.
Use 1/4 BSF bolts to remove the housing.
Housing removed.
Pull the bearing from shaft.
Now remove the Servo drive and spacer.
Removal of Servo drive.
Remove the bolts from rear extension housing.
You'll find 2 bolts inside housing.
Second bolt inside housing.
Bolts removed from sidecover.
Sidecover removed.
Pan showing debris.
Filter positioned on pipes to the pumps.
It is necessary to remove these pipes before attempting to remove the servos..
Remove the connecting pipe between the 2 servos.
Remove this pipe also.
With this pipe removed the servos can be removed from the transmission case.
Remove the 2 bolts in each servo.
Transmission with servos removed.
Remove the 2 drive bolts from the governor to the rear pump.
Remove the lock tab on the governor body and remove both bolts.
Governor removed from rear pump.
Remove the 2 mounting bolts on the rear pump.
Remove the rear pump.
Remove the feed pipe from the front pump to the front servo.
With the rear band tool fitted to case, tighten tool down.
Pin of the drum tool locking rear drum to allow bolt removal.
Remove the coupling bolts from the rear drum.
Remove support parking pawl support bolt from housing.
Remove parking pawl.
Parking pawl removed.
Pull the housing off the shaft.
